Can a guest cancel a booking?
Yes. You can cancel a booking before arriving but please note, as per the terms and conditions you agree to on booking, the booking fee (or maximum fee where applicable) paid at the time of booking is non-refundable.
If for some reason the host must cancel your booking, we will refund you the booking fee.
In all the cases where there might be an issue with the accommodation or with the host, you must have made first contact with Homestay Technologies Limited at least 48 hours after check-in-date, to allow us to consider a refund of the booking fee. Failure to make contact within 48 hours of check in will mean a review into the issue cannot to be undertaken.
To cancel a booking, simply follow these steps:
- Log in to your account
- Enter your email address and password
- Click “Bookings” top right of page
- Select the booking that you want to cancel
- Click on cancel this booking
If you've paid any or all of the balance owed directly to the host in advance of your arrival, this cancellation is subject to the cancellation terms clearly stated on the host profile and agreed between both parties on booking.
Please note: if the host cancels a booking on your behalf the Homestay.com booking fee is non refundable as per the terms and conditions agreed upon booking a homestay.
Deposit Payment Option
Some hosts (depending on country and currency) avail of our Deposit payment option. If you book with these hosts, you must pay 25% of the booking price and the booking fee to confirm the booking. For a refund of this deposit payment, cancellation must be made at least 7 full days prior to arrival. However, as per the terms and conditions you agree to on booking, the booking fee that you paid is non-refundable. If you cancel less than 7 days in advance, the 25% deposit payment is made to the host 2 business days after your scheduled arrival date.
