What is Homestay.com and how does it work?
Homestay.com is a global accommodation booking website for people seeking a real
and genuine travel experience. It allows you to book a room in another person’s home.
At the core of the homestay experience is a host being present to welcome the guest
into their home.
Homestay.com and the NHS have partnered to provide NHS employees an opportunity
to find suitable accommodation close to their place of work by staying in the home of a
local NHS employee.
Currently running as a pilot program, the private marketplace allows for NHS home
owners to advertise their spare rooms by signing up as a Host free of any charge. NHS
employees in need of accommodation can then search for available rooms.
After reviewing the room and price of stay, the NHS Guest can make a Booking Request to
the NHS Host. Homestay.com takes a 7% commission fee, which the NHS Guest pays
online via credit / debit card when they complete the booking.
